Three Wishes

Her eyes are closed to the thought; of endless love ever sought.
The battle of hearts never won; so in her it hadn’t even begun.
She did wish with all her thirst; for a true love so un-cursed.
But time always broke down the mold; each day adding a heavy load.
Then one came and swept her up; in a cocoon of magic.

And time did show him her value; nothing but an empty statue.
Then one came and smiled so sweet; leaving him at heaven’s feet.

They wished only once again; that love would never descend.
Time showed them all of what they missed; ‘I do’s’ were said, sealed with a kiss.
Then they came to a forked path; but just took hands and walked back.
